Acceptance & Commitment Therapy

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a modern, evidence-based form of psychotherapy that helps people stop fighting difficult thoughts and feelings—and start building a life aligned with their values.

Rather than trying to eliminate painful emotions or "fix" negative thoughts, ACT teaches skills to accept what you can’t control, while committing to actions that move you toward what truly matters to you. of evidence-based techniques to help you develop coping skills, build a support network, and achieve lasting recovery. We also provide support for family members affected by addiction.

Neurodynamic Breathwork

Breathwork is a therapeutic practice that uses intentional breathing techniques to help release stress, regulate emotions, and connect more deeply to the body.

At Healing Speak Counseling, LLC, we integrate breathwork into our trauma-informed approach to support clients in calming the nervous system, processing difficult emotions, and accessing deeper layers of healing.

Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or simply seeking a holistic tool for self-regulation, breathwork can offer powerful moments of clarity, peace, and emotional release—all through the simple act of breathing with awareness.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an intervention that challenges the client to identify the correlation between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Identifying these connections can help clients figure out their patterns, motivations, and strategies for change. CBT is the basis for a variety of therapy interventions.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is a type of talk therapy for people who experience emotions intensely. As an off shoot of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT works with clients to find a "middle ground" and challenge "black or white" thinking.  DBT is considered the "gold standard" in treating Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). It is highly effective in treating a variety of mental health issues as well.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

EFT tapping is a mind-body method of tapping acupuncture points (acupoints) on the hands, face, and body with your fingertips while focusing on an issue or feeling you're hoping to resolve. This method may reduce stress and anxiety, improve performance, lessen cravings, and help resolve fears.  EFT tapping has been approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) as an evidence-based therapeutic intervention.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

Have you found counseling to be unsuccessful in the past? EMDR may be a more effective alternative treatment intervention. EMDR can be used to reduce negative thoughts and feelings associated with trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, addiction, OCD, Eating Disorders, fears and phobias, depression, and grief.

Flash Technique

Originally developed as an addition to the preparation phase of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Flash Technique can treat the disturbance level associated with severely painful memories, sometimes in as little as ten to fifteen minutes. Like EMDR, Flash Technique utilizes eye movements or alternating tapping and is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain.

Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a compassionate, evidence-based therapy that helps people understand and heal their inner world. IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own emotions, beliefs, and roles. Some parts may carry pain or trauma, while others try to protect you from being hurt.

Through IFS, you’ll learn to connect with your “Self” — the calm, wise, and grounded core within you — and build a better relationship with all your parts. This process fosters deep healing, emotional balance, and inner harmony.

Schema Therapy

Schema Therapy helps clients identify unhealthy thoughts and insecurities (Schemas}, the role they play in their relationships, and the root cause of them. Once identified the therapist engages clients in challenging the Schemas (reparenting). Schema Therapy is effective in treating trauma, depression, Eating Disorders, fears and phobias, and Personality Disorders.
